Restore Your Beautiful Smile with Cosmetic Veneers

Are your teeth chipped, discolored, gapped, misshapen or misaligned? Then you should know that our El Paso cosmetic dentistry practice can help you restore your smile with cosmetic veneers.

What are Veneers?

Cosmetic veneers are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of porcelain that are bonded to the surface of the teeth to create a cosmetic improvement and sometimes a bite improvement. The veneers are bonded to the teeth to change their color, shape, size or length. The porcelain veneers our El Paso cosmetic dentists use resist stains better than resin or composite veneers and better mimic the light reflecting properties of natural teeth.

Types of Problems Cosmetic Veneers Are Used For

Porcelain veneers are routinely used to fix:

  • Discolored teeth
  • Teeth that are worn down
  • Misaligned, uneven or irregularly shaped teeth – Sometimes referred to as “instant orthodontics” cosmetic veneers can make crooked teeth appear straight
  • Teeth with gaps between them
  • Chipped or broken teeth

How a Porcelain Veneer is Placed
The procedure consists of an initial consultation and two visits to our office. To prepare a tooth for a veneer, the tooth is minimally prepared with a special hand piece so it’s ready to accept the veneer. An impression is made of the tooth and the tooth is temporized. When the veneer arrives at our office from the lab, you will be asked to come back in so it can be placed on your tooth.

An etching gel will be applied which conditions the tooth for the bonding procedure. The etching gel is then thoroughly rinsed off and an adhesive bonding material is put on the tooth. The lab-fabricated porcelain veneer is then bonded in place to aesthetically restore the tooth to proper form and function.

Benefits of Cosmetic Veneers

There is nothing better than feeling great about your smile! In addition to improving your smile and boosting your self-confidence, cosmetic veneers also provide other benefits including:

Strength and Durability

Porcelain veneers are made from pure porcelain that is strong and durable. This means your teeth will function just like they did without the veneers.

Long-Lasting

Veneers can last for many years and even a lifetime with proper care. You will be given special aftercare instructions once the veneers have been placed on your teeth.

Natural Looking Results

The porcelain veneers our El Paso dentist places on your teeth are made to match the natural color of tooth enamel. This makes the veneers appear just as your natural teeth would.

No Recovery Period

Once the veneers have been placed on your teeth, you can leave our office and immediately carry on with your normal, day-to-day activities.
